Mama please make it stop snowing

All of our paths are narrow.

Here is the driveway.
Sam is trying to get the porch steps cleared but he finally gave up and just cleared a narrow path.
Poor Wellaby had to stay inside while the driveway was being plowed. The snowman is still under that pile of snow but he is snug as a bug in a rug.
That roof is not giving me a warm fuzzy feeling. Sam will be getting up there on Fri to clear it off. The trusses can take the weight but the ice and water shield only goes back 3 feet and it does leak if the ice creeps up beyond it. The snow is so high that Sam can almost climb onto the roof of the doghouse to get up on the roof.

It's crazy. Absolutely NUTZ I tell ya. Snow Snow Snow. Today was the 2nd in 2 weeks that I have missed work because of bad storms. Normally I would love the chance to have a lazy at home but now I'm starting to worry about summer vacation time. Just like the kids I will have to work all summer to make up for time missed this winter.

More snow predicted for Friday and Monday and possible next Wednesday. Arrrrrrggghh

Wake me up when it is May.

I feel naked

But I'm saving money.

Today is my first day on a rideshare program. I have a long commute (1 hour each way) and I have always gone it alone. I don't mind riding alone. I listen to Howard Stern or chat on the phone or sometimes I just ride in silence. So it isn't the ride that has me looking for company. It's the sharing of gas that will be wonderful. I figure everyday that I am an passenger in the carpool I'll be saving about $8. Times that by 2-3 days a week and it could really start adding up. Not to mention I'll be saving about 70 miles of wear and tear on my car. The bad part is I am still traveling about a half hour to get to my rideshare but it's better than driving a full hour on my own.

I'm definitely not used to having no vehicle. It feels funny and not funny haha. But if I can save some money I'll acclimate to the naked feeling of not having my car. If it wasn't so dang cold I would probably enjoy feeling naked. ;-)

Gorging and Purging

I think I need a high colonic or a coffee enema or maybe I should just shove my fingers down my throat. OMG.....I have eaten sooo much in the last few days. It's just plain wrong.

We had 2 gatherings for work yesterday. Yup, I did say 2. One at lunch then another for dinner around 5. Celebrating holidays and taking some much needed downtime before we head into the storm of tax season was wonderful but my waistline is really exploding. I have another gathering on Sat and again on Sun and again on Mon and last but not least let's not forget about the festivities of the actual Xmas day. Since I will not be able to forgo all the eats that will be placed before me on those days I will be fasting/starving for today and tomorrow.

(last years lot)

On a more positive note, I wrapped all the gifts that I have purchased so far. This is a huge feat for me. Usually I am wrapping the gifts for any given gathering on the morning of that gathering. Most of my gifts are not wrapped more than about 2 hours. I'm used to that but definitely like the feeling of being ahead of the game even if it is only by a little bit. I still have shopping to do. Hopefully that will be done Saturday morning. I am holding out for the door buster deals at JCPenney.

Why am I touting JCPenney??

They have been fabuloso this year. On Sat I bought $278 worth of items and only paid $114 for them. Then on a Sun I ordered 3 items that would have totalled $170 and I only paid $99 and that included the taxes. Shipping was free too! Woot! Then on top of that I placed the order around 6:30pm on Sunday and I received an email at 9pm saying the order had been shipped. It was on the Fed Ex truck on Tuesday. That is just phenomenal!! And now the gifts are neatly bagged and wrapped under the tree.

Life is good. If only I could reduce this waistline.

"I think we should take all of our meetings at the beach"

This is the kind of afternoon we had. Pristine.

We didn't win the volleyball tourney but we sure had fun and alot of laughs.

Giving it their all

New dance moves???

Hold on...show me that move again

Just go ahead and kick her when she's down.

Ummmm....I think you have that frisbee upside down.

Running away or running after?

200+ pix and this is the only one of me

I love being the photographer.

And of course, I never tire of a magenta sky

Beautiful end to a gorgeous day.
