Losing didn't matter

Going to see the Red Sox play against the Phillies in Philadelphia was such a great time that it didn't matter that the Sox lost. The stadium is state of the art. Not a bad seat in the house and so fan friendly. The first 7 innings were great...the last 2?? Not so much.

After the game we went to a quaint little pub on Chestnut St in downtown Philly called the Devil's Alley. We sat out on a balcony and just enjoyed the Summer evening breeze. Mom hit a new pinnacle of eating something so yummy and soooo bad for you. She had a hotdog platter. It was a huge hotdog stuffed w/cheddar cheese and wrapped in bacon. OMG...a $9.95 heart attack. She said it was a once in a lifetime, kinda like the game. That with the fries and fried onions should suffice as the junkiest yummiest food to be had in the City of Brotherly Love.

We drove home yesterday. 11 hours all tolled but we missed the hail storm in northern NJ that was dominating the news this morning.

I think the Hot Dog should be a once in a lifetime deal but the game should not. I definitely want to do that again.

Sounds like you built good memories this weekend. That's awesome.

Someone once told me that you could make anything decadent by putting cheese on it. Broccoli, cauliflower, whatever, just add a little cheese and it's the best thing in the world. :)

Cheese and bacon, oh my!
